PURPOSE: To provide a motor-assisted bicycle capable of correctly detecting menual torque by simple constitution to accurately drive a motor according to this torque. CONSTITUTION: In a motor-assisted bicycle wherein a spring 40 is interposed between a pedal and a wheel to detect the magnitude of stepping force by the expansion and contraction of the spring 40 to assist manual drive by an electrically-driving part according to this magnitude, in order to detect the expansion and contraction of the spring 40, the expansion and contraction of the spring 40 is converted into the movement in an axle 39 direction, and this movement quantity is detected by the change of inductance due to the movement of a ferrite 48 in a coil 49 to detect the magnitude of torque. |
