PURPOSE: To provide a display control device and a method always displaying a video signal on a center of a screen without displaying biased to the certain direction on the screen even when the video signal of which the number of dots of a liquid crystal display panel are different from the number of dots of a video display period is inputted. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a frequency decision circuit 5 obtaining the modes of the horizontal/vertical frequencies of the input video signal from horizontal/vertical synchronizing signals, a memory circuit 4 setting to a picture mode suitable for the input video signal from the obtained frequency modes and horizontal/vertical timing generation circuits 1, 2 capable of optionally setting horizontal/vertical display positions. By obtaining the horizontal/ vertical frequencies of the input video signal, the generation of horizontal/ vertical timing signals matching with the frequencies are controlled, and the video signal is displayed on the center of the screen of the used liquid crystal display panel even when the video signal of which the number of dots of the liquid crystal display panel of the liquid crystal display device are different from the number of dots of the video display period is inputted. |
