A bending device for elongate material is provided with a table for supporting material, a stationary die on the table, for holding the material in place and establishing the bent shape, and a turntable, which is mounted in the table, can rotate in two directions about the die and is provided with a drive, with a bending tool for bending the material around the die. The bending tool is provided with a driver member for moving it up and down between an active position and a retracted position, out of and into the turntable.
