The trimming component (7) works in conjunction with the counterpiece (3) when the C-shaped trimming unit fits over a balcony plate edge to clip away the part of the plate inserted in the trimming gap. The device incorporates a carriage (10), on which the trimming unit is suspended. The carriage makes possible the movement of the trimming unit in a suitable direction in the plane of the balcony plate, and includes a component (9) for driving the trimming unit. The trimming unit is balanced by the carriage so that a stable arrangement is obtained. A component (6) is incorporated for lowering the clip trimming unit to a first position permitting movement of the carriage and trimming unit in a suitable direction in the plane of the balcony plate to a second position in which the carriage can be moved so that the trimming unit fits over the plate edge, and for raising the trimming unit from the second position to the first. |
