Capacitor microphone for installation in a helmet, speech signals from the wearer via contact between the microphone and the head of the wearer being converted into an electrical signal. The microphone is switched on and off by the wearer. The microphone is fitted into the headband of a helmet and, when in use, lies against the forehead of the wearer. A maximum distortion of the signal of 6% and increased sensitivity in the voice frequency range are implemented by placing a weight on the membrane of the microphone with a weight of 95 - 190 μg/mm2 of membrane surface area and with a surface area of 6 - 14% of the surface area of the membrane.
