The table-top cooker has a base and a cover (30) that fits over the base. A cooking element fits inside the cover. A ventilation outlet in the top part of the cover allows gases to escape from beneath the cover. A catalyser block (16) fits in the ventilation outlet so all escaping gases pass through the catalyser. The catalyser block is placed immediately above the heating element so that it will be raised to a temperature that enhances its operation. The heating element extends round the periphery of the catalyser block. The cover has a flat top surface (31) heated by the element beneath. The part of the cover outside the catalyser is slotted, and the periphery of the flat surface ends in a raised ridge (32). |
