Variable convergent-divergent nozzle for gas turbine engine jet pipe

The nozzle has annular assemblies of convergent (7) and divergent (24) flaps, pivotably mounted to a support frame by their upstream and downstream ends respectively. The convergent flaps are controlled by a motor and transmission including control levers (15) articulated by pins (16) to a fixed portion of the engine structure. Control rods (22) are articulated between the free end of each control lever and a respective flap. A jack (10) is connected by its output shaft (10a) to the control lever to drive the lever in a pivoting motion. Alternate ones of the divergent flaps are connected to the control levers by auxiliary rods (27).
