The game uses one or more balls (15). The playing surface (6) of the board is enclosed by strips (2-5) running along the edges. A number of parallel and immediately adjacent ball grooves (7-13) are formed in the surface, their inlet direction (17) being inclined to the adjacent edge-strips (2,4). A hole (18-24) into which the ball drops is formed in each groove, and each of these forms a scoring point, the value of those (18,24) in the outermost grooves being of the highest value, which decreases towards those (21) in the innermost grooves. The grooves can be open at both ends to allow ball insertion.
