The telephone terminal has a pref. retractable antenna (2), speaker (3), microphone (4), keypad (5) and battery (6). An electronic unit (7) includes circuits for memory (15), reception (8), emission (9) and control (10). The vendor or distributor programs the memory through a connector (19) using an electronic module with a call keypad. Alternately, programming can be performed through a device integral with the telephone consisting of a microswitch or jack plug. The operating keys are for line connect and line cut-off or a single start-stop may be used for toggling between the states. In addn., a large coloured key for emergencies may also be provided to perform the connecting, calling and cutting off.
