A laminar material for use inside cars consists at least partly of a plastic film, a cushioning layer, and a moulded foam layer. In this assembly the cushion is a fabric mat and pref. a flock material. In its prodn. the textile material is applied to the back of the plastic film, with or without adhesive, and an impervious layer is then added before the moulded foam. The layer can provide the bond between its adjacent materials. It is best to then apply the foam in several layers (e.g. at different positions). The prod. can alternatively be made by rotary slush casting. The film is produced first and flock material applied in the rotary mould. The final foam can also be formed in the same mould. A second film can also be added to make a sandwich article and this given the foam covering. ADVANTAGE - The prod. has a good soft feel but a stiff surface. (0/0)
