METHOD FOR WELDING PIPE SLOCKET

For welding tube socket joints in thermoplastic tubing, where the straight end of one tube is inserted into the socket end of the next tube section, heat is applied to melt the thermoplastic material together with a pressure to bond the sections together. The pressure is set to give a structured joint pressure, where there is a defined pressing action on the outer circumference of the inserted tube end against the inner circumference of the surrounding socket of the other tube end, before the welding action develops. The pressure is continued until the material has cooled after the welding stage.
