<p>A water spray nozzle (5) for fire extinguishant purposes has a first plurality of axially directed outlets (18), producing axially directed water jets into the ambient atmosphere, and a second plurality of outlets (16) which are inclined to the axis and produce water jets which impinge with the axially directed water jets. All the water outlets are connected to a common pressurised water supply. The impinging water jets cause the water to become atomised and to produce a spray of fine droplets. In a modification, one set of the outlets can be fed with compressed gas such as air, instead of water.</p> |
