Capacity-related feed to machinery in bottle-handling plants

Bottles are supplied to the cleansing machine in a succession of trays controlled by a system incorporating a shift register whose length corresponds to the number of tray carriers between input and output of the machine. The number of fully loaded carriers in the vicinity of the output is visible through a window with e.g. nine divisions. The state of feed is signalled by sets of three switches at 5, 10 and 15 m from each end of the conveyor. Surplus capacity is utilised to reduce the need for interrupting the supply.
