Insert to seal and line pond, esp. nuclear cooling pond

An insert (1) to line and seal a point (2) has a supporting structure (6) of profile strips (5) arranged in a grid, and lining plates (7a,7b) so that there is a seal between the profile strips (5) and the adjacent plates (7a,7b). The insert (1) is secured to the pond wall (4) with a self-supporting, movable system so that between the insert (1) and the pond wall (4) there is space (25) which accommodates a cooling fluid (29) and thermal expansion of the insert (1). Also claimed is a method for mfg. the above insert (1) where the profile strips (5) are joined to form a grid (6); the joints between the plates (7a,7b) and the profile strips (5) are welded; and the insert (1) is suspended from the pond wall (4).
