Interlocking heat insulating panels made of foam material

The panels are made from a heat insulating foam material and are covered, at least on the side which is exposed to the heat source, with a protective layer. The edge of the panel has a reinforced lip (5) at one side which is made by a deep groove (14) in the edge of the panels. A sealing rim (8) of adhesive mixture is applied to the lip (6). When the panels are pushed together, this rim will engage with a groove (8) in the mating panel. The two panels are further secured together by an interlocking tongue and groove along the edges of the panels.
