Sound propagation property display method for body part

Ultrasound transmission signals are sent from an ultrasonic transducer (12) along a probe line (13) towards a part of the body to be examined, esp. the breast (2). A second ultrasonic transducer (22) opposite the first receives the ultrasound signals transmitted through the breast. Sound propagation properties along the probe line (13) are determined from the signals received by the second ultrasound transducer (22). The parameter values are then displayed (16). The presence of a timer may be displayed.
