<p>A robust biological specimen classifier. An automated microscopy system (511) obtains features from an image of a biological specimen slide. A computer system (540) in the automated microscopy system (511) computes feature variations. Clusters are created that comprise samples of similar characteristics. A cluster membership generator (24) generates membership values for each cluster. Classifiers (26, 28, 30, 32) specialized to certain feature sets are used to provide independent outputs. These outputs are offset (34, 36, 38, 49) and biased (42, 44, 46, 48) by the output of the membership generator (24). The output of the adjusted classification values are summed (50) to create a slide score output (52).</p> |
