Mounting system for front panel electronic module mounting on circuit board

The electronic module (1) can have one or more housing parts (3) that are bonded together (2) and is mounted on a circuit board (8). The module can contain a mix of components such as switches, potentiometers, indicators, etc. The front of the module can have projecting switch actuation levers of metal (4) and these are enclosed by a thermally protecting cover to prevent heat transmission to the module during soldering. The cover is readily removed after fixing. The module is located in the correct position on the board by dowels (10) and adhesive from a pocket (9) is released to bond the unit to the surface prior to SMD soldering connections (7).
