Automatic data recording system for non-metallic pipework

The system includes a re-usable, passive, corrosion-resistant memory device, e.g. a transponder, embedded in the pipework. All the pipe data to be recorded is coded and stored in the memory device, from which it is retrieved as required at a later date. Data is registered to memory by means of a send and receive unit. The unit is built into a mobile device which travels along the inside of the pipe, such as a camera truck as used for the TV inspection of drains.
