Mechanism for oscillating a sample holder within a sample vessel

The mechanism includes a sealing device for sealing an access port of a sample vessel. The sealing device has an opening, and a finger-like member having an open proximal end and a closed distal end. A device is incorporated for connecting the sample holder to the distal end of the finger-like member. The latter is sealably connected to the sealing device by its the open proximal end so that the open proximal end is aligned with the opening and the distal end is operable to project into the sample vessel when the movement is in use. A device projects into the finger- like member for imparting oscillatory motion to the distal end of the finger like member.
