<p>The invention relates to a process for determining the quantity of plastic granules removed over time by an extruder (1) from a feed hopper (6) whose outlet (7) opens into the inlet (8) of the said extruder, in which process granules are constantly directed into a storage container (16) and a feed-quantity of granules is intermittently directed into the feed hopper, in which process the feed hopper is weighed before or after it is fed, when feeding commences, or when feeding is at an end, and the time required to remove the quantity of material resulting from the weighings is measured, and in which process the throughput of material over time is calculated from the quantities of material removed from the feed hopper in the times measured. In order to achieve the object of further developing a process of this type in such a manner that it also ensures a uniform material feed into the extruder when edge-strip material, in addition to granules, is fed to the cyclone-shaped container, the storage container is used essentially only as a mixing container and an additional batch-preparation container (13) is disposed between this and the feed hopper. The storage container opens into this batch-preparation container. At least one component of the granules and recycled edge-strip material is fed continuously into the storage container. The feed hopper and the batch-preparation container are weighed at time intervals and the feed rate of the at least one component of the granules is increased or reduced accordingly when the measured total weight of the two containers deviates from a predetermined reference weight. …<IMAGE>… </p> |
