摘要 PURPOSE:To easily adjust the position and angle of an image pickup element by providing the 1st adjusting plate which allow an image pickup element to turn around the vertical axis of its support member and the 2nd adjusting plate which allows it to turn around an optical axis, and setting center axes of turning of both adjusting plates so that they cross each other on the photodetection surface of the image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:When the vertical position of the image pickup element 7 is made by irradiating an axis 9 with laser light by using a laser irradiating jig so that the center element output of the image pickup element 7 is maximum, the breadthwise center point of the image pickup element installed having the longitudinal-axis center point almost on the optical axis coincides with the optical axis accurately. Then, when the distance of a lens 6 is adjusted while the light source of an image pickup optical system is turned on so that the output of the center element is maximum, correct image formation condition is obtained and a position adjusting stage is completed. The 1st the and the 2nd adjusting plates 11 and 15 are turned after the position adjusting stage, and then the image pickup element is turned around the vertical axis and optical axis about one point on the optical axis of the center element photodetection surface which is positioned, thereby adjusting the angle to or around the optical axis while the center element part is fixed in position and focusing state without any mutual influence between both angle adjustment.
