A novel corrosion and wear resistant body consists of a hot work or constructional steel with a thermochemical treatment layer (pref. of boride, carbide, nitrocarbide, carbonitride, oxynitride, oxycarbonitride, oxy:nitro:carbide or pref. nitride, esp. an epsilon cpd. of ion) and a hard material layer (pref. of one or more of borides, nitrides, carbides, carbonitrides, nitro:carbides, oxy:nitrides, oxy:carbonitrides and oxy:nitro:carbides of pref. gp. IVb metals or their alloys, esp. TiN). Also claimed is prodn. of the above body by thermochemically treating and hard material coatings constructional or hot work steel body in a vacuum treatment chamber. |
