PURPOSE: To obtain the subject activator capable of shortening the culture time in a culture system of human epidermal keratinized cells, thus leading to increase in the passage number of cultured cells, or useful for treating burns, wounds etc., containing, as active ingredient, an oligosaccharide alginate (salt). CONSTITUTION: This activator contains, as active ingredient, an oligosaccharide alginate or a salt thereof. The active ingredient is obtained by subjecting an alginic acid lyase produced by Alteromonas microbes to alginic acid (salt) to carry out a treatment. It is preferable that the oligosaccharide alginate (salt) be <=1000 in molecular weight and the disaccharide to pentasaccharide constituent thereof account for 80-10wt.% of the whole active ingredient. |
