PURPOSE: To provide a means capable of surely and easily detecting the staining of the surface part of a photoreceptor in an image forming device having a developing device developing an electrostatic latent image formed on a latent image carrier with plural colors of developer at least containing toner and a means for detecting a specified developed image pattern formed on the latent image carrier by the use of an optical sensor. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a 1st surface detecting means 100A detecting the surface part of the latent image carrier by the optical sensor 414P in a state where the developer is in non-contact with the latent image carrier, a 2nd surface detecting means 100A detecting the surface part of the latent image carrier by the optical sensor 414P in a state where the developer is in contact with the latent image carrier, a detected voltage comparison means 100A comparing the detected voltage by the 1st surface detecting means with that by the 2nd surface detecting means, and a control means 100A controlling image forming actions in accordance with the compared result of the detected voltage by the detected voltage comparison means. |
