PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical agent containing polydeoxyribonucleotides useful for the prevention and treatment of diabetic neuropathies. SOLUTION: This pharmacological composition contains polydeoxyribonucleotides and is preferably administered in the form of tablet, capsule, etc., for oral administration or intramuscular, subcutaneous or intravenous infusion solution for parenteral administration. The polydeoxyribonucleotides have chemical properties such as the random sequence formula of P1-6 , (dAp)w12-24 , (dGp)x10-20 , (dTp)y13-26 , (dCp)z10-20 (P is phosphoric radical; dAp is deoxyadenylic monomer; dGp is deoxyguanylic monomer; dTp is deoxythymidylic monomer; dIp is deoxycytidylic monomer); an electrophoretic behavior to move a homogeneous band toward the anode. The polydeoxyribonucleotide can be produced by the chemical depolymerization of a deoxyribonucleic acid extracted from the organ of an animal.
