PURPOSE: To obtain an incense capable of generating strong thermal power on burning and having little trouble of soiling surroundings by scattering ash. CONSTITUTION: This incense contains 1-30wt.% of inorganic fiber, preferably 1-20wt.%. An example of the inorganic fiber includes a glass fiber, a carbon fiber, a ceramic fiber, a metallic fiber, etc., and commonly, the short fiber of about 5-100mm in length and about 1-50μm in diameter is mixed and kneaded in a base material of the incense. In the case of a mosquito-repellent incense, the incense contains a pyrethroid compound such as pyrethrin, allethrin or prallethrin in an amount of 0.01-3wt.%, preferably 0.01-1wt.%.
