In large size vacuum cleaners having a filter chamber (6), e.g. with depending filter bags, and an underlying, removable dust collector vessel (10) it is problematic to use a tight dust collecting bag, e.g. for enclosed disposal of dangerous dust, as the bag is liable to be sucked up into the filter chamber. According to the invention, a bag (30) is mounted on a holding edge located inside the collector vessel, whereby the prevailing suction pressure will be present at both the inside and the outside of the bag, such that the bag will not be sucked up. Alternatively it is possible to use a non-expensive, tightly closable sacrificial bucket (28) for the collection purpose, inasfar as it can be ensured, by means of a funnel insert (32), that the dust will fall down only into the bucket or into the said bag, respectively, and not into the surrounding outer portion of the dust collector vessel. |
