PURPOSE: To provide a silencer which shuts off only the sound waves from the external space without disturbing the flow of air. CONSTITUTION: The inside of a substrate silencing chamber 8 is partitioned by a partition plate 11 having a communicating hole 12 to form a silencing chamber 14 consisting of a closed space to constitute a Helmhortz resonator and an air flow passage 15, thereby, the noises generated from an apparatus are resonated by the Helmhortz frequencies of the silencing chamber 14 and are confined into the silencing chamber 14. Air from which the sound waves are removed is smoothly discharged to the external space through the air flow passage 15. |
