PURPOSE: To obtain a renal insufficiency therapeutic agent, diuretic agent or hypotensor having cerebrovascular dilative, diuretic, vasodilative and renobloodstream increasing activities etc., containing a new pyrazolopyridine compound, that is an adenosine antagonistic substance as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This medicinal agent contains as active ingredient, a pyrazolopyridine compound of formula I (R<1> is an aryl; R<2> is an unsaturated heterocycle) or its salt, for example, 3-[2-(2-carboxyethyl)-3-oxo-2,3- dihydropyridazin-6-yl]-2-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyridine. The compound of formula I is obtained by, for example, reaction between a compound of formula II or its salt and a heterocyclic compound of formula R<2> a containing a group of formula III in the heterocycle in a solvent such as pyridine under warming or heating. |
