发明名称 LIGHT AMPLIFYING TRANSMISSION SYSTEM
摘要 PURPOSE: To increase system margin in an optical fiber transmission system using an optical soliton as a base and to obtain a practical several 10s Gbit/s long distance large capacity light amplifying transmission system by executing RZ optical signal transmission by adopting many transmitting optical fibers whose zero dispersion wavelength is intentionally longer than signal wavelength. CONSTITUTION: The transmission system is constituted so that the average zero dispersion wavelength of a transmitting optical fiber is shorter than the wavelength of signal light, the zero dispersion wavelength of a transmitting optical fiber corresponding to >=1/3 and <=2/3 the whole length is longer than the wavelength of an optical signal and the absolute value of the wavelength dispersion is larger than a half of the absolute value of the average wavelength dispersion value of the whole length of the optical fiber. For instance, the wavelength dispersion value of the transmitting optical fiber in the wavelength of the optical signal is about-0.6ps/nm/km in a transmitting optical fiber 4, about 1.2ps/nm/km in a transmitting optical fiber 5 and about 0ps/nm/ km in a transmitting optical fiber 6. A positive value for the wavelength dispersion value indicates that the zero dispersion length of the optical fiber is shorter than the wavelength of the optical signal and a negative value indicates that the zero dispersion wavelength is longer.
