PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine suppressing growth of virus, T-cell of adult leukemia or retrovirus such as AIDS virus, etc., and sterilizing without side effect by including an alkali extract of Asparasus linearis as an active component. CONSTITUTION: This antiviral medicine contains an alkali extract of Asparasus linearis belonging to family Leguminosae as an active component. Said extract is obtained by extracting stems, leaves or roots of Asparasus linearis preferably with hot water, drying and extracting with an alkali such as sodium hydroxide. The extraction with hot water is performed in a manner that Asparasus linearis is immersed in 5-1000times of water, extracted at 70-100 deg.C for about from 10min. to 4hrs, dried under sunlight or indoor for 1-3days, 5-500times of 0.5-5% alkali solution is added and stirred with shaking at 10-60 deg.C for about from 30min. to 10hrs. In the case of using the medicine as a drink, taking of each 1-10mg/L solution to the total 20-500mL/day is preferable. |
