PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound having excellent analgesic effect because of having functionally antagonistic activity against substance P, virtually free from addictivity, thus useful for patients with chronic rheumatism or end- stage cancer, etc., as a non-narcotic analgesic agent. CONSTITUTION: This compound (or a salt thereof) is expressed by formula I [R is (acylated) amino], e.g. rugulovamlne A. This compound of formula I has the following characteristics: appearance: white powder; molecular weight: m/Z 255 M+H<+> ; elemental analysis (observed): C70.68, H5.52, N 11.27; molecular formula: C15 H14 N2 O2 ; color reaction: positive to sulfuric acid and ninhydrin reaction, etc., negative to Sakaguchi reaction; and disposition: basic and liposoluble. This compound of formula] is obtained by subjecting an oxidase produced by microbes [pref. Saccharothrix sp. RUG-13 (FERM P-14533)] to a compound of formula II or a salt thereof. To take the compound of formula I from the reaction liquor, it is preferable that the liquor be treated with an adsorptive resin. |
