PURPOSE: To obtain a herbicidal composition capable of manifesting synergistic effects on gramineous and broad-leaved weeds without manifesting phytotoxicity to lawn grass including American and European lawn grass at all by using a pyrazolesulfonylurea-based compound and a compound capable of manifesting strong efficacy in the gramineous weeds in combination. CONSTITUTION: This herbicidal composition for lawn grass is obtained by using a compound of formula I and a compound of formula II as active ingredients. The compound of formula I is capable of manifesting excellent herbicidal effects in a small dose, has high safety for crops such as corn or wheat and the lawn grass and exhibits not only remarkable effects on various annual weeds but also strong efficacy in perennial weeds. The compound of formula II has high safety for transplanted paddy rice and the lawn grass and further manifests strong efficacy in gramineous weeds such as Panicum crus-galli L., Digitaria adscendens Henr. or Poa annua L. The compound of formula II is used in an amount of preferably 2-20 pts.wt., especially 2.5-10 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. compound of formula I. The composition is capable of selectively and simultaneously controlling the gramineous and broad-leaved weeds in lawn grass including American and Europena lawn grass, e.g. Zoysia matrella L. Merr. or bent grass and further manifesting additive and synergistic effects. |
