PURPOSE: To prevent the closed circuit voltage drop by using a layered product of a micro-porous polyethylene film, a graft film, and cellophane as a separator, and arranging the micro-porous polyethylene film on the side to be kept in contact with a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION: This silver oxide battery is provided with a positive electrode 1 using silver oxide as a positive electrode active material and a negative electrode 2 using zinc as a negative electrode active material. A layered product of a micro-porous polyethylene film 3a, a graft film 3b, and cellophane 3c is used as a separator 3, and the micro-porous polyethylene film 3a is arranged on the side to be kept in contact with the positive electrode 1. The micro-porous polyethylene film 3a has the electric resistance of about 31-100mΩ-cm<2> which is lower than that of the graft film 3b, the electric resistance of the boundary face between the positive electrode 1 and separator 3 is decreased, and the closed circuit voltage characteristic of a battery can be improved.
