PURPOSE: To transmit a voice signal and data simply and efficiently by sending the data for a period when no voice signal is sent. CONSTITUTION: In the case of the simultaneous communication mode of voice and data set by a key board 13, a control section 11 gives an instruction of checking it that a data terminal equipment is connected to a data terminal equipment connection section 2 to a communication IF section 3. The communication IF section 3 checks the connection and informs it to the control section 11 when the connection is made. Upon the receipt of the notice, the control section 11 gives an instruction of changeover control of a digital data changeover device 7 to a voice/silence detection section 6. The detection section 6 sequentially calculates power of voice from voice data received from a voice processing section 5 and discriminates it to be silence when the voice level is below a predetermined voice level and throws the changeover device 7 to the position of the communication IF section 3 and throws the changeover device 7 to the position of a voice processing section 5 when the level is over the voice level. Thus, the digital data changeover device 7 selects data from the communication IF section 3 or the voice processing section 5 and the selected data are fed to a MODEM section 8. |
