PURPOSE: To provide a purifying method capable of very efficiently purifying a nitrogen oxide incorporated in waste gas even if steam coexists in the waste gas in the purifying method of a combustion waste gas produced by a dilute combustion system by using specified catalyst and provide a catalyst used for this method. CONSTITUTION: In the purifying method of the combustion waste gas and an activated In-ZSM-5 catalyst used for this method, the combustion waste gas produced by the dilute combustion system is subjected to a contact reaction under the presence of the activated In-ZSM-5 catalyst obtained by depositing moreover a metal selected from a group consisting of iridium, platinum, rhodium, chromium, paladium, iron an cerium as the second component on the In- ZSM-5 catalyst obtained by depositing indium on a ZSM-5 type zeolite carrier as a first component. |
