PURPOSE: To provide a processing method for forming a silver image having satisfactory printing resistance and high ink receptivity even at a lower pH when a direct planographic printing plate utilizing a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process is developed. CONSTITUTION: A planographic printing plate utilizing a silver complex salt diffusion transfer process is processed with a developing soln. contg. at least one kind of silver halide solvent and at least one kind of compd. having a pKa value of 9.5-12.5 selected from among saccharides, oximes, phenols and fluorinated alcohol.
