The installation (1) has a trough (3) for washing and/or dewatering of material (2) which contains a feed screw (4) for processing and transport of material to be cleaned. It has an inlet (6) for dirty material (2A), an inlet (7) for washing fluid (9) and a sieve unit (11) for sepg. fluid (12) including washing fluid from the material to be cleaned. It also has an outlet (10) for the washed and dewatered material (2B). The sieve unit comprises a plate (15) forming part of the trough cover (17) for tapping off fluid having at least one recess (17). A number of sieve bars (20) are parallel to one another and are placed at right-angles to the feeder screw longitudinal axis. They are fitted in the recess with intermediate spaces forming reciprocal sieve gaps (21). Through the influence of the passing outer flank (22) of the rotating feed screw, the bars are movable in the recess from a position penetrating slightly into the trough to one adjacent to the sieve plate inside. |
