PURPOSE: To provide the data display device which improves the operability by displaying a part of data to be displayed in a short time independently of the scale of this data. CONSTITUTION: When the display position of document data which is arranged and displayed on a CRT is changed by a pointing device like a mouse, the head position of a paragraph 22c including this display position is retrieved from document data before arrangement and is stored as a document pointer 21, and the displacement from the head position of the paragraph 22c to the display position is stored as a head displacement 23. Document data of the paragraph 22c indicated by the document pointer 21 is arranged and is displayed with the position, which is indicated by the head displacement 23, of document data after arrangement as the head. If a document display area is not filled though document data from this head position to the last row of the paragraph is displayed, document data of a next partagraph 22d is arranged by the same processing, and it is displayed till the document display area is filled. |
