摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To provide a device capable of reducing a ratio occupied by invalid cells without receiving the report of a virtual path capacity from a user and performing the accurate control of the virtual path capacity. CONSTITUTION: Two virtual paths provided with the flow of cells in mutually opposite directions for connecting plural nodes 21-24 in a bus and this management device 1 for managing an information amount to be communicated through the virtual paths are provided. Also, a control means for using a DQDB as a MAC protocol for multiplex controlling the cells made to flow to the virtual paths in the respective nodes, measuring the ratio of the number of cells for which a request bit is raised every time the cell arrives at the respective termination points of the virtual paths, judging the excess and shortage of the capacity of the virtual paths based on the measured result and controlling the capacity so as to follow up the judged result is provided.</p>
