PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device capable of realizing an object function as an image forming device body or a system. CONSTITUTION: A new additional function is connected to a copying machine body, and at the time of judging that the additional function can not be sufficiently utilized, the identification(ID) code of the new additional function and an updating program(PG) transmission request is transmitted to a communication control equipment (communication equipment) 2201. The equipment 2201 receiving the request transmits these data to an external management device 2203. After completing the transmission of prescribed data from the equipment 2201 to the device 2203, a communication result report expressing the result of communication between the equipment 2201 and the device 2203 is transmitted to the transmitting source body. The device 2203 receiving the updating PG transmission request selects a proper updating PG necessary for the adjustment of a version from a data base based upon the ID code or the like of the additional function and transmits data from the equipment 2201 connected to an object body to the object body. Then the body displays a set key corresponding to the newly connected additional function and executes control based upon the updating PG.
