PURPOSE: To prevent degradation of a gradation property by performing a color correction processing to image data which can not be expressed in the color space of an image output means and projecting pseudo images to the color space of an image input means. CONSTITUTION: The image data are read by the image input means 1, passed through a variable magnification processing part 2, RGBγ-processed in an RGBγ processing part 3 and impressed to a delay processing part 4 and an L*a*b* conversion part 5. Then, a color space difference judgement part 8 judges whether or not the output signals of the conversion part 5 are the image data expressibile in the color space of the image output means 15. Then, when judgement is negative, the color correction processing is performed and the pseudo images are projected to the color space of the image input means 1. In this case, the judgement part 8 sends out judgement signals to a selector 10 to select the conversion part 7. On the other hand, when the judgement is affirmative, the selector 10 selects the processing part 4 and the color correction processing by a color conversion part 11 is performed. Thereafter, an UCR processing, an YMCKγ processing and a dither processing are successively performed and the images with improved gradation property are outputted. |
