PURPOSE: To provide the information processor which enables an operator to easily input a word having a KATAKANA(square form of Japanese syllabary notation such as an adopted word. CONSTITUTION: When a KANA(Japanese syllabary) conversion key on a keyboard 3 is depressed, a romaji(a method of writing Japanese in Roman characters)/KANA conversion list 10 is referred to convert a character string inputted from character keys to KANA characters, and a KANA conversion list 10 is referred to convert it to KANA/KANJI (chinese character). When a romaji conversion key is depressed, a romaji conversion list 9 is referred to directly convert the character string of an adopted word, which is inputted from character keys in spelling of the original language, to a KATAKANA character syring. After the converted KANA/KANJI or KATAKANA character string is stored in a candidate memory 6, it is stored in a settled character string memory 7 by depression of a determination key. The character string in this conversion process is displayed on a display device 12. When a register key is depressed, the character string stored in the settled character string memory 7 is transferred to a data memory 11. Thus, it is unnecessary to input the adopted word by romaji. |
