PURPOSE: To provide a reactive power compensation device which can compen sate the reactive power and the hither harmonic current at a time. CONSTITUTION: The reactive current (amplitude value) ILd flowing to a load 10 is calculated by 3-phase/2-phase converters 2 and 3 and a reactive current detector 6. Based on this reactive current, an adder 17 outputs the reactive current command value Idχ inverter 9 generates a reactive current based on the value Id *. Meanwhile, the active current flowing to the load 10 is detected by an active current detector 28, and the higher harmonic component ILqh of the active current is outputted through an HPF 29. Thus, the adder 33 outputs the active current command value Iq * based on the component ILgh , and the inverter 9 generates an active current based on the value Iq *. |
