PURPOSE: To obtain a moving vector detector in which setting of a block matching size and a number of image frames are controlled to improve movement tracking performance. CONSTITUTION: Block matching arithmetic operation is conducted efficiently in response to a motion of an object by providing a filter and switch circuit group 21 discriminating a motion level of the object, a window search circuit and a block matching arithmetic circuit group 22 to conduct block matching arithmetic operation in response to the motion of the object efficiently and a comparator circuit group 23 and an output circuit 24 generate a motion vector based on the result of arithmetic operation. Furthermore, an image frame control circuit 26 and a moving vector prediction detection circuit 27 are provided to improve the motion tracking performance in the case of camera control. |
