SIMULATION DEVICE FOR CIRCUIT VERIFICATION

PURPOSE: To evaluate the temperature of a circuit to be verified by calculating the temperature of the circuit to be inspected on the basis of the history of the total current consumption in a process of simulation on a computer. CONSTITUTION: A simulation execution part 101 structures a model for the circuit to be inspected on the computer and performs function simulation. A circuit operation extraction part 103 extracts the operation mode of a function block in the execution process of the simulation. A total current consumption calculation part 105 calculates the current consumption of the function block corresponding to the extracted operation mode and also calculates the total current consumption. A mean current calculation part 107 calculates a mean current on the basis of the history of the total current consumption and a check time. A permissible temperature judgement part 109 calculates the temperature of the circuit to be verified on the basis of thermal resistance, a source voltage, ambient temperature and the mean current and also judges whether or not its temperature is lower than the permissible temperature. An error message output part 110 outputs an error message when the temperature exceeds the permissible temperature.
