摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent both ends of a focus detecting area from getting unclear and to prevent the ability of detecting a low frequency subject from being deteriorated by preventing focus detecting arithmetic operation based on a pair of signal trains having a component equal to or under a specified frequency from being executed or narrowing a shaft range in correlation arithmetic operation in the case of calculating contrast equal to or above a specified value in an area out of a focus detecting arithmetic operation range. CONSTITUTION: In the case where the contrast equal to or above a specified value has been calculated in the area out of the focus detecting arithmetic operation range on a photoelectric conversion element train, the focus detecting arithmetic operation based on a pair of signal trains having the component equal to or under a specified frequency is not executed. An arithmetic processing circuit 3 includes a filter-processing circuit 3a, an arithmetic operation range setting circuit 3b, a threshold setting circuit 3c, a maximum shift number setting circuit 3d, and a focus detecting arithmetic operation circuit 3e. The filter-processing circuit 3a executes filter-processing to the output signal trains of the image sensor 2 and outputs filter-processing data. The setting circuit 3b decides the arithmetic operation range in accordance with the kind of the filter-processing.
