INTEGRAL IMPLOSION-PROTECTED CATHODE-RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: To provide an integral implosion-protected cathode-ray tube by which the scattering of glass at implosion time in a glass panel having a uniformly flat face plate can be prevented and cost can be reduced. CONSTITUTION: A cathode-ray tube 1 is composed of a glass panel 3 having a uniformly flat face plate 2 and a glass funnel 4 connected to a rear part of the glass panel 3 by low expansion glass 5. Shrinkage fitting of a reinforcing metallic ring body 6 is performed on a side surface outer peripheral part 8 of the glass panel 3. A resin sheet 7 has a film thickness of 100μm, and has the size which surrounds the face plate 2 and covers up to the reinforcing metallic ring body 6. The resin sheet 7 is stuck to the glass panel 3 and the reinforcing metallic ring body 6 by a sticking agent so as to cover the reinforcing metallic ring body 6 arranged on a surface and in a side surface outer peripheral part 8 of the face plate 2 of the glass panel 3.
