A method for printing and processing a fabric to provide a polar fabric by printing with disperse dyes and simultaneously protecting certain portions of the stitches according to predetermined patterns and/or shapes, then napping the resulting fabric so that the protected stitch portions are left recessed. The fabric has non-napped portions (2) corresponding to particular designs and/or the outlines of all or some of said designs, whereby a relief effect is achieved.
